Russell Country Ridgeriders, Inc. was established in 2003 by three
working ranch families with the goal of providing guests with an
opportunity to experience an authentic Montana ranching experience in
the heart of “God’s Country.” Located in
Central Montana near Winifred, Russell Country Ridgeriders, Inc., and
our families, invite you to spend a week with us in the Springtime as
we brand and trail cattle to summer pasture. If you cannot join us in
the Spring season, please enjoy a week in the Fall as we gather/move
cattle and vaccinate calves in preparation for shipping. Situated in
the legendary Missouri and Judith River Breaks this is one vacation you
will never forget.
2008 Cattle
Drive
Gary, TJ and
Matt, ranchers who work and make a living off this scenic and rugged
Montana countryside, will ride alongside you on this week of adventure.
Our goal is for you to enjoy a real Montana cowboy experience on actual
working ranches. The day you arrive you will be matched up with one of
our ranch horses, which will be yours for the duration of the trip.
Each guest will be given a great deal of freedom with your chosen
mount. Detailed instruction and guidance will be given on a daily basis
covering everything from basic horsemanship to properly working and
handling cattle. Stay horseback all day, or catch a ride in a wagon,
and learn to drive the team. Each day, enjoy three generous home-style
meals cooked in dutch ovens and over the fire. After a hard day's work,
relax around the fire while you relive the events of the day, and enjoy
the evening entertainment.

Spring Cattle Drive

The Cattle Drive is designed for guests 18 years and older with some
riding experience. Enjoy 6 days and 5 nights personally assisting our
cowboys and cowgirls in roping, branding calves and driving herds of
cattle to summer pasture. Enjoy the scenery. Learn local history. Help
check cows grazing in summer pasture. If it gets too hot under the
midday Montana sun, cool off and refresh your spirit in the easy
flowing Judith River. Stop along the trail to explore old homesteads,
do a little fishing, observe the wildlife, or even do some dinosaur
digging.
